TWU SMIF Research Analyst Job Information
Position Description:
TWU SMIF provides Research Analysts with unique opportunities to grow their knowledge and ability within investment research and analysis. Research Analysts work with a designated Portfolio Manager to learn different stock analysis and research methods, as well as stock selection and pitching expertise.
Requirements of a Candidate:
-Must be a First, Second, or Third-year student.
-Open to all majors, with a preference for students with Business courses.
-Available on Monday evenings from 9:30-10:30 pm (Exceptions for holidays and study breaks)
-Driven to Expand their knowledge on current affairs, finance, and business.
-Fair competency in research and analysis skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Responsibilities:
-Attend all TWU SMIF team meetings.
-Attend all weekly individual team meetings with the assigned Portfolio Manager.
-Actively participate and engage in SMIF team meetings.
-Conduct stock research under the guidance of the Portfolio Manager.
-Complete readings on provided topics to prepare for SMIF meetings accordingly.
-Gain competency on valuation methods such as the Discounted Cash Flow Method (DCF) or other appropriate models used by the fund.
-Participate in delivering team stock pitches during SMIF team meetings.
-Screen stocks for new opportunities and remain up to date with the ongoings of the stock market.

TWU SMIF Marketing Assistant Job Information
Position Description:
TWU SMIF’s Marketing Assistant is responsible for aiding the Director of Marketing with marketing strategies, as well as the SMIF brand image. The Marketing Assistant is in charge of maintaining SMIF’s social media pages and website under the direction of the Director of Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
-Attend executive and team meetings when needed
-Maintaining SMIF’s Social Media channels
-Updating Website/Website maintenance
-Creating marketing materials for SMIF events
-Organizing Open Pitch Night
-Assisting with document layout and design
-Creating marketing tools (post cards, business cards, etc.)
